Year 4

Week beginning 1st June.

On this page you will find the learning activities suggested by Mrs Pearce and Miss Percy for the week. Please try to complete the tasks by Sunday 7th June as we will be refreshing the page with the following week's tasks then.

Message from your teachers:

Hey Year 4! We hope you had a good half-term and enjoyed that lovely weather. We certainly did!

We have taken on board your feedback when we've spoken on the phones and have changed our PDFs slightly to make it easier for you. We are proud of you however much you are able to get done - you're coping brilliantly with all of this! Well done.

We can't wait for our weekly phone calls with you this week... and can't wait even more until we can all be back in school together! Miss you!

Here is the KS2 design brief - click it open and view on your device, or you can download it and print it off. If you would like some help with the researching and designing stage, I have put together these printer-friendly sheets - but feel free to use your own if you want! There's a lot of stuff on Twinkl for 'mechanical cam toys' to make your project even more professional, such as this research sheet. I can't wait to see what the children of KS2 get up to! Click here for a template for different cams and click here to see what other KS2 children have created if you're still looking for inspiration.

There are also optional Story Starters set from Pobble that the children usually complete in the morning at school. These involve a visual prompt that ignite their imagination and a story starter/questions which children can innovate and continue with to create a short, engaging story/piece of writing.

Please ensure your child completes their daily Mathletics challenges to unlock and access the games.

All children have been supplied with their log-ins and passwords for Mathletics and Times Table rockstars. The teachers will be setting daily tasks for the children to complete for both of these apps. This pdf explains the expectations. If your child is unable to access the apps, please email

We will also be setting Daily Tasks for Maths on each of the Daily PDFs. Please complete these in the Home Learning Books or on paper.
