Week beginning Monday June 1st.
Below you will find the learning activities suggested by the EYFS team for the week. Try to complete these activities by Sundyay 7th June as we will be refreshing this page with the activities for the following week by then.
Message from your teachers:
Dear Reception, Welcome back!
We hope you had a lovely half term break in the glorious sunshine! We can’t wait to hear all about what you and your family got up to. Remember to put on Parent share, email or even post your writing to us.
This week in Literacy we will be looking at the book Oliver’s Fruit Salad. It will be a great opportunity to try new fruit and to even design, make and eat your very own fruit salad! Fruit is very important to keep us fit and healthy. In maths we will be learning all about halving, what it might look like, how to halve objects and share our amounts into two halves.
Don’t forget to stay safe and healthy, keep washing your hands lots of times throughout the day and we can’t wait to see you all very soon. If your child is feeling anxious or upset about not returning to school, don’t forget to check out some of the activities in the Super Mind Hub on our website.
Lots of love
EYFS team xxx
Additional message from Mr Strickland:
Remember, this is the last week to enter into Mr Strickland's DT competition. Research, design and make your pop-up, sliding card for the chance to win your own Aircraft Engineering kit. Here is the EYFS/KS1 design brief - click it open and view on your device, or you can download it and print it off. If you would like some help with the researching and designing stage, I have put together these printer-friendly sheets - but feel free to use your own if you want - there are loads on Twinkl!
Email photos of your research, design and making stage (including a photo/video of the final pop-up slider card!) to email@example.com by Sunday 7th June for your chance to win an airplane engineering kit!
Good luck! Mr Strickland
