As we welcome all children back to school next week, our keyworker bubble will change as children rejoin their classes. We celebrated with a garden party! Children designed the menu, baked or made all of the delicious food and drink and then enjoyed and celebrated our community❤️ https://t.co/idqeaB71AV

Meet the mini versions of Betty O Barley and Harry O Hay. YR1 worked hard today, building scarecrows and harvesting delicious courgettes and potatoes that we then cooked fresh from the earth and tasted. Even our most discerning palates had a try and gave it the thumbs up! https://t.co/HHUiTzmSnI

Why do mentos and diet cola react this way? Is it texture? sugar? something else? Keyworker bubble were tasked with predicting, control measuring and working out the answer for some outdoor science. https://t.co/Ih3uE5H7ik

Mindful Monday! Reception bubbles created the most stunning natural art to frame their dusted handprints. Mindful breathing practice followed by a 5 senses session looking at our plants in the playground and working out which of the senses each plant used the most. 👁👃🏼👂🏿🤚🏽👅 https://t.co/non5sibBJc

Reception bubbles have been adding their kindness pebbles to our new pathway. Their definition of kindness when discussing was ‘smiling’, ‘helping each other, ‘sharing’ and ‘showing love’ what clever and caring 4 and 5 year olds we have. https://t.co/4fcoTyzNq6

Keyworker bubble, inspired by the graffiti on the Berlin Wall, created art using acrylic paint, pastels and etching with outstanding results. Well done, fantastic work. https://t.co/sE1dbVKqSw

Virtual Book Club

Welcome to Miss Johnson's Virtual Book Club!

MissjhiThumbnail image

Each week, Miss Johnson will set a new book, or a new chapter, for you to read at home. There will be an accompanying video of a teacher reading the set text, and a PDF with some questions or topics to think about. Virtual book club is open to all children in all year groups, however younger children may require adult help to decode some of the words and assistance to fully appreciate the text.

There will be a new text with some new discussion points and another accompanying video uploaded next week, so remember to check back so that you don't miss out!

We hope you enjoy HPABe's first ever virtual book club!

Love from Miss Johnson

You can read along using this PDF, which also has some discussion points for you to consider after listening and/or reading along. However, If you would like to buy a physical copy of the book for your bookshelves, you can buy a copy from Amazon here.

We would love to hear your ideas from the third chapter of this great book, so feel free to email your answers to Miss Johnson's questions to info@harrisprimarybeckenham.org.uk with the subject: Virtual Book Club (
