Harris Academies
All Academies in our Federation aim to transform the lives of the students they serve by bringing about rapid improvement in examination results, personal development and aspiration.

Our Vision

Whatever a child's background or starting point, the staff at HPABe are ambitious for all children and aim to ensure they finish Year 6 with the knowledge, academic skills and life skills in order to thrive. We recognise and value each child's individual personality and work to develop their self-confidence and self-esteem.

At HPABe we strongly believe that once a child can read they can access the wider world around them. Each day begins with a high quality phonics lesson and by the end of Year 1 the vast majority of children move away from the phonics programme and develop their higher level comprehension skills through their daily 'Cracking Comprehension' session.

For the rest of the day children take part in a busy timetable of Mathematics, English and thematic work which aims to link all areas of the curriculum.  P.E., music, French and Art are all taught to a high level by subject specialists which children have access to from age 4. Thematic lessons are challenging and link British Values in a meaningful way, they all have the 'wow' factor at the heart to inspire and motivate pupils. The 'wow' factor is taught at HPABe through ensuring that lessons have a real life outcome for pupils.

Each child will be taught in the way that suits them best and we will step in quickly if a change is needed.  All children who need further support receive 1:1 tuition from age 5 and free before school booster sessions to support them to make outstanding progress.

We expect all pupils in EYFS and KS1 who receive a universal free school meal to stay for a school lunch. We operate a 'Family Service' where lunch tables are set as they would be in a restaurant with table clothes, flowers and baskets of bread and crudités. Pupils are served using china plates and eat with their teachers who encourage table manners and conversation. Our chef works with our parents and children to develop and tailor the menu.

At HPABe we have an incredibly well qualified team including all fully qualified teachers with successful track records in teaching, an incredibly strong and experienced senior leadership team and all EYFS specialists working within our EYFS department. Together the staff live and breathe the vision- every child matters and every moment counts.

We strongly encourage visits to our academy so that you can see our vision in action.

Where every child matters and every moment counts.
